Bentonite is a kind of clay rock with montmorillonite as its main component, which is called "universal soil" and widely used in all walks of life. With the rapid development of science and technology as well as the continuous improvement of research methods and means, the in-depth understanding of the composition, properties and properties of bentonite and the increasing demand of social development for mineral raw materials, the application of bentonite is more and more extensive. The relevant bentonite has involved 24 industries, up to more than 500 products. The understanding of bentonite production and product performance is more conducive to the rational development and utilization of bentonite resources. At present, in the development of bentonite in some enterprises, although there are some data of geological exploration, mineral analysis, distribution and storage capacity of some mines in the early stage, most of them do not carry out further process test performance evaluation to determine the most suitable product for development. They do not know the resource advantages of their own ores, do not guide the separate mining of mines, only do some rough processing of mass products, which are large in quantity and low in price, and lack competitive advantages. The geological exploration, mineral analysis and content data of bentonite reflect the basic characteristics and properties of bentonite, and the process test evaluation of bentonite reflects the development and application value of bentonite. Only through necessary tests can we determine the best project products and make full use of the limited mineral resources.
China is rich in bentonite mineral resources, accounting for the first place in the world in total, which is distributed in more than 20 provinces and cities across the country. However, there are great differences in the technological properties of bentonite in different regions, and the products that are suitable for corresponding development are not the same. The grade of bentonite in different regions is different, and the exploitation, utilization and development direction are also different. In order to make the soil in hand turn into gold and maximize the economic benefits of the utilization of mineral resources, we should first recognize our own "grade" of mineral resources. This is not only the physical and chemical properties of bentonite, but also its product performance and application performance.
